Research Opportunities

Antimicrobial Stewardship Program - Research

The SHS-UHN ASP pursues the model that all of its activities should be based on the best available evidence, should be studied to observe real-world outcomes, and should contribute to modern medical practice with knowledge translation.

Multiple research projects are active within our program.  We continue to explore new research opportunities and continue to build partnerships with key stakeholders to expand our research activities.

Our current foci of research revolve around four main areas:

  • Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia
  • Antimicrobial stewardship in intensive care units
  • Primary care antimicrobial stewardship
  • Antimicrobial stewardship in the immunocompromised host
